Top 3 trombone videos
I was wondering recently what are the most interesting trombone videos according to the general audience. A quick way to find out was to search youtube on keyword "trombone" and choose a filter for the most views. One would guess that the most talented trombonists and biggest soloist fit this top view list. As you will notice, this is just partially the case. This is the top 3:
On three: Pharrell Williams - Happy: Trombone Loop
This video by Christopher Bill places third with 2.46 million views. He made a loop composition of the very popular Happy by Pharell Williams. We actually played this song with the local concert band as an encore. Christopher is an upcoming musician from just outside New York city. His work can be found at: http://www.classicaltrombone.com/
In second: When Mama Mom Isn't Home original Freaks (Timmy Trumpet & Savage) Dad and Toby trombone & oven kid
This video went viral. What can i say, just watch it! Over 5.34 million views. I think it's the kid with the sunglasses that makes the performance.
And the winner in first place: Serenading the cattle with my trombone (Lorde - Royals)
Not he best trombone player in the world, but I guess he attracts a crowd. With over 9.2 million views and counting, farmer Derek Klingenberg (https://www.facebook.com/Klingenbergstudios) know how to get attention from the world wide audience. Congratulations!

Toccata and Fugue in D minor
Originally composed for organ (download score) this piece must be one of the most famous composed by Bach. We played it a couple times with our concert band a few years ago in the local church with great acoustics. The score has been adapted to a great different kind of instruments and band settings (some free available scores). All the above videos are adaptations for trombone quartet. Maybe Bach should have written the original for a trombone quartet.

Trombone concerto Rimsky-Korsakov
I think is a nice intermediate to hard trombone concerto to play. The score can be found at for free at:

32 etudes for trombone - Sigmund Hering
Yesterday I bought this book at a local music store in Bruges called Rombeaux. They have a large selection of sheet music for piano, guitar and violin, but not for trombone. I even had to ask the lady at the counter where the study books for trombone where located because of the shop renovation they made.
The book can be bought online at sheetmusicplus.com. A first peek at the content learns that this book contains progressive studies for an low-intermediate level trombonist (which I am). This is my second study book and I hope I'll be able to give a good review of it in due time.
